Case 28:- Diagnosis with MRI - Degenerative Disk Disease, DDD:
Our patient is a 41 yr old male with history of rheumatic fever suffering for 35 + years exposed to the disease at childhood, who started feeling neck pain right at the edge of skull and neck joints. In order to diagnose we recommended to identify the issue with MRI of cervical Spine (with contrast).
We applied IV ,
The sequences: T1 TRA , T2 TRA, T1 SAG, T2 SAG
Our findings are:
Cervical lordosis is straightened with normal vertebral alignment
Mild dis desiccation of variable degree noted at all cervical discs
Mild osteophytic lipping is seen in C4 to C6 vertebrae
Disc height maintained at all levels
Vertebral marrow signal intensity appear normal
At C2-C3 level :unremarkable.
At C3-C4 level :unremarkable.
At C4-C5 level :unremarkable.
At C5-C6 level :unremarkable.
At C6-C7 level :unremarkable.
Diagnosis:
a)
No spinal canal stenosis or foraminal narrowing is seen
No signal change is noted in the imaged part of the brain stem, cerebellum
And cervical part of the spinal cord –suggesting any pathology
After IV contract n significant enhancement is seen
Screening on the rest of the spine on T2WI:early degenerative change in lumber spine noticed
b)Impression:
Patients suffers from Early degenerative change in cervical spine.
